Luminato Presents Maybelline

In June, I finished class early and decided to browse around downtown before I decided to head back home. Ivy and I decided to go shopping at Eaton Centre and we noticed there was some sort of event that was happening at Dundas square. Of course, I decided to check it out! It was a cultural/music festival. Maybelline and Redken were also advertising their products at the same event, that same week. They had laptops set up all around the tent. Redken laptops had a survey that allowed their customers to fill out to find out exactly which products would be best suited for their hair.

Maybelline was advertising their new vibrating mascara. Maybelline's laptops offered a survey as well but it was also to register your profile for a contest. I had to explain my skin type, what kind of make up I prefer, what make-up style I liked, etc.

Who would have guessed.. I, 1 out of 9 people won the prize pack! They supplied me with make-up chosen specially for me based on my survey! How awesome is that?

My personalized make-up package is worth approximate $200. I never win anything! This is why I am so happy and excited!

They did give me 3 different shades of foundation! That is puurrrrfeeeeccctt! From a very light shade to a slightly bit more tanned tone incase I do get a bit dark (which I have).

Three kabuki brushes, one for each foundation, I am assuming.

Along with the three foundations, they have also given me 3 mineral concealer packages. They are not identical tones as the foundations and that's great! They do also recommend to find a concealer that is approximately 1-2 shades lighter.

Can't forget the blush! Oh I can't explain how happy I am with this package! I absolutely LOVE mineral make-up and they have provided me with everything I needed. (I was running out of foundation but I have been too lazy to go purchase a new one.)

Can't forget the final touch, the mineral veil.

Eyeshadowwwwwww <3

The three essentials, pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner and of course mascara!

Two different shades of lipstick; plum (350) and crushed (300).

And of course, the make-up bag the make up came in.

I will be doing reviews on each of the products I have recieved from Maybelline. I would like to thank them again for sending me all these amazing products! See you all soon for the reviews!!!!

Nominationnnn

I have been nominated thanks to Paparazziskin and now it's my turn to return the favour! Check her out! Best blog to learn about your skin! One of my favourite blogs!

Rules of Acceptance:
*Acknowledge the person who sent you the award.
*Nominate 7 other blogs.
*Share your 7 personality traits so we can get to know you better.

My 7 Traits
1. I have this weird obsession with green! It doesn't matter what shade of green but I love it! I started to notice that I have a lot of 'jade green' in my closet... so it's about time to lean towards a different colour... so people don't think I am wearing the same thing.

2. I am a friends FREAK! I remember most of their lines and I can never get bored of watching it! Watching friends is my way of staying calm.

3. i'm very open. By what I mean open is... I'm not afraid to burp or do nasty things around my friends.. or strangers..(don't think I'm gross) lol
4. I have a hard time throwing things out.. even items I've had since I was 5 years old. How do I get over this?

5. I'm VERY loud! Not such a good trait, people always tell me to lower my voice. It's kind of embarassing sometimes.

6. I hate being late. Being on time is being 10 mins early from the actual time. You guys probably think I'm a freak now, don't you?

7. I've changed a lot over the years and I am still changing. I hope it will all be for the good/better *crosses fingers* but I'd say I am a friendly person but not I am not as friendly as I used to be. I am slowly working on this trait.

My nominations are:
1. 365 Days of Being Single
2. Closet Rebel
3. Beauty Inside and Out
4. Vannity and Everything in Between
5. Skayylove
6. Mint Chocolate

Wedding (08.22.09)

This is what I wore to a wedding that I went to last saturday. I purchased this dress at Jacob for $39.99 (from $90). My shoes are from ALDO (last season) and I purchased those for $50 (regular price!). Plain and simple. I have also attached another photo of me with two of my girlfriends. The food could have been better but unfortunately.. it wasn't worth a cheat from my diet. I know I have been posting a lot of photos of clothing instead of doing reviews. Posting photos is easier to do for now. I got sick over the weekend so I wasn't able to do anything! I hate being sick!

Here they are!

As you know from my previous post, I was debating if I should keep the turquoise dress from Mendicino or not. Well, I did like the dress but I didn't feel that the dress was anything special. I went to Mendicino on Sunday to see if I could find something else.

I ended up purchasing this dress (sale).

What do you guys think? Good choice or bad choice?

I also have been talking about another Mendicino dress that I had purchased and I haven't posted a photo of it yet either. So here is it:

You will never believe how much it cost me. It was originally $310 then it went down to $150.. then it goes down to $79... PLUS 40% off! I was very excited. It's fun and you can wear this dress to any occasion. I did put the belt on because it just adds the final touch to the dress.

I mentioned I had purchased another dress from Denise in Helen and Terry's wedding post. This was the other dress I purchased along with the teal dress.

I purchased this dress on sale for $25 dollars! Sales, sales, sales. Oh I love them!

My bf's sister went to Disney World last week and she bought this Coach bag for me. She always buys us things from Florida when she goes with her kids because the sales in Florida are INSANE.

I will keep you guys updated.
OH and I will post photos of what I wore to the wedding I had gone to on Saturday.

This is a photo of me and Jo-Ann at Helen and Terry's wedding. I know it isn't the most flattering photo of me.. but I'm working on my physique as we speak.

The dress I am wearing was purchased from Denise at Square One shopping centre. The dress was originally 130. It got marked down to $65.00 with additional 40% off. It should have come up to $39.00 before tax. When I went up to purchase the dress it scanned $29.99 PLUS 40% off! The dress cost me only 17.99 (before tax). I couldn't believe it and to think I was contemplating because it was a bit loose around the bust area. I did purchase a maxi dress along with this dress. I will try to take a photo of that dress very soon for you guys.

Coastal Scents

How do you guys like Coastal Scents eyeshadow? I've seen a lot of youtubers use it but I'm still thinking. It's a great price.. I'm not sure what it is that is holding me back. Has anyone used it?

Dermaglow Correction Cleanser

Sorry I haven't been writing here. I've been stressed out about looking for a better job and keeping up with this diet of mine (I will update you guys on that another time).

So this summer has been one interesting summer. It has been raining a lot and it gets way too humid for me espeically after the rain stops. My skin gets very sticky and oily, making me feel very nasty! I was browsing Shoppers Drug Mart one day (one deadly store) and I was looking at a Vichy package that was on sale. There happen to be a specialist working at that SDM location on that particular day. She asked what it was that I was looking for. I explained to her my situation; my skin has been getting very oily and it makes me feel dirty. She recommended for me to try a gel cleanser, fragrance free. She showed me the Dermaglow, correction line. She said it is a safe bet to help my skin because there aren't as many chemicals as other cleansers would have. There are no fragrance, dyes or parabens in this cleanser.

Normally I don't believe sales associates because I feel they are trying to get the best commision they can earn. But she didn't work for Shoppers Drug Mart, she works for Dermaglow and wanted to teach the workers in the cosmetic department about the line. I know what you're thinking, she's scamming me into purchasing products from the company she works for but I genuinely believed that she was trying to help me. She also did mention that I can return the product in 30 days with my reciept used or not (for all of those who did not know you can returned used products).

I was very hesitant. It was a line I was not very familiar with. I have seen the line at Shoppers Drug Mart but I didn't give it a second look. I have been very pleased with this product. It has done everything it said it would.

-Clarifies skin and controls oil
-Reduces pore blockage
-Inhibits acne causing bacteria
etc.

My skin feels fresh and clean after cleansing my skin. My skin has helped with my oil control, oh you would not believe. Good-bye oil sheets! So let's look at this again,

Pros
1.) Fresh clean feeling
2.) Has helped oil control (significantly)
3.) Have cleaned my pores which has reduced the acne breakouts

Cons
1.) To me, $30 is a lot for 3.5 Oz
2.) The texture takes some time to get used to (it took me about 3-4 days to appreciate the texture and what it does to my skin, magic (haha))
3.) I can't think of anything else.

Overall, I give this cleanser a 10/10. I have tried a lot of products to help with my breakouts and I am very pleased with the results this Dermaglow Correction Cleanser. I have been using this product for approximately 2 weeks, no complaints yet.

Oh, and did I mention.. DERMAGLOW, THEY ARE CANADIAN?! Even better!

Go out and try it!

Let's lose the stretch marks!

I am becoming youtube obsessed and about improving myself physically. From my previous post, you can tell I am trying to improve my cellulite. Cellulite is one of the ugliest things you can get. I don't remember when I started to get it but I do not want to walk around in a bathing suit with bumps all over my legs, yuck. But other flaw that I don't like are my stretch marks. I only get stretch marks on my inner and outter thighs. I was talking to a friend who had her son approximately 7 months ago and she got a lot of stretch marks that she never expected to get. She is 5'2 and weighs 118 lbs now. She tried everything you could possibly think of.

The only advice I have been given was to apply Vitamin E on my stretch marks and over time it should fade. I did try this method but I stopped after a few days. The Vitamin E I tried was sticky. It was the Jamieson Vitamin E bottle. I couldn't stand the feeling and always having to worry that it doesnt touch anything or ruin my clothes.

As I was saying, I've been obsessing with Youtube. Since there is everything on Youtube, I thought perhaps I would be able to find videos on stretch marks. I have posted a video from TonyaTKO from youtube about a method that she did that gave her the results she had hoped for.

Thursday, I went to yorkdale after my physio and purchased Shea butter. TonyaTKO explains the mixture of (pure) shea butter with olive oil removed her stretch marks. It does take sometime. She said it took her approximately 6 months. I will begin this process today and I will keep you updated on my results.

Bliss Review Update

Hello everyone,

I apologize for the late review. I thought I'd give it some time to see if I'd be able to see some sort of results. I do tend to get impatient with products. I believe this is my second product I have used for cellulite but the first product I was inconsistent which in the end I did not receive the results I had hoped for.

The product is a scrub that is suppose to 'restructure' cellulite. It consisted all scrub. I was to use the product between 2-3 times a week. The scrub came out stiff and blue. I found that it was very difficult to squeeze out of the bottle.

It was recommended to rub between my hands to warm it up before I applied it to my skin. I did follow those instructions for the first week until I got lazy and decided to warm it up while I was applying the products on particular areas of the lower half of my body. It had a very strong scent. I would compare the smell to tiger balm or Vix. It is very strong at first but after using it for a week the smell did not bother me.

The procedure:
The product had to be warmed up and scrubbed on the specific areas you would want to concentrate on. After applying the product evenly, I took my cellulite simulator to rub my skin moving in a circular motion. This is to get fatty tissues to circulate and I was told this will help smooth out my skin.

The Pros:
After applying the product on the specific area, my skin felt very smooth. I did begin to see some results after 3 weeks of using the scrub but they were not significant changes. I do believe I would have to use another bottle or 2 to see some sort of a significant change. The scrub felt rough while applied onto my skin but I personally like that because I began to believe it was working.

The Cons:
It was very difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. My bottle doesn't look as nice, due to my excessive squeezing (impatient). The bottle nor the website (I went on Sephora because that is where I purchased the Bliss product) and no where was I able to find exact instructions on how to use the product properly. I knew it was one of Bliss bath products which I thought would benefit me to do it all while I am in the shower. I tend to be on the run after I get out of the shower so why not multi-task. But to this day I am still unsure if I am to still apply it in the shower or outside of the shower. I do not know of which method will give me the results I with to receive.

All in all, I do believe that this may take about three bottles for me to actually see some sort of 'significant' improvements.

Rating: 3/5

Can Men and Women Be Friends?

Janet showed this article to me. At first I did not agree with the facts but after reading it for the second time I changed my mind.

What do you think? Do you agree with Shumley?

Can Men and Women Be Friends?

Oprah & Friends XM Radio host Rabbi Shmuley Boteach talks about his ground rules for platonic relationships between men and women.
Add page to favorites
More on Oprah.com

Can men and women be "just friends," or is sexual attraction between the sexes always inevitable? According to Rabbi Shmuley, men and women can be friends with members of the opposite sex, as long as they follow certain rules. He talks about platonic friendship between the sexes and shares his ground rules for opposite-sex friendships outside of marriage.

If a person isn't married, Rabbi Shmuley says it's perfectly all right to have friends who are members of the opposite sex. Society has moved away from polarizing the sexes, and today, men and women work together, go to school together and should be able to be friends, he says.

Things are different if you are married, Rabbi Shmuley says. It is possible to have an opposite sex friendship, but you cannot compromise certain borders:

1. You can't go out to late night dinners together. You can have lunch together in a public place, but you should not order alcoholic beverages. "The embers of attraction really can grow in situations like that, and suddenly it's not so innocent, it's not just friendship anymore," Rabbi Shmuley says.

2. You can't take long drives or long flights with the other person, even if it's for work. "Even if you have to work with a colleague [of the opposite sex], there are still certain boundaries you need to preserve," he says.

3. You cannot place yourself in any situation where romance can grow. "Romance grows when people are alone; romance grows when people tell secrets," Rabbi Shmuley says.

4. You can't share secrets with a platonic male or female friend that you don't share with your spouse. "Because then you're sharing an exclusivity with a member of the opposite sex that you're not with your partner, and that can lead to a big no-no," he says.

5. You should not be friends with ex-lovers.

I finally joined the gym!
I lied, it isn't 24/7. It is open from 5am - 12am. Which is alright. I can learn to work with it. It's better than going to a gym that closes at 9. I finish class at 9...

I'm excitedd!!!!!!!!!!

L.A Fitness - Brampton, North

I am uber excited the new gym is opening. I found out that they have a promotion going on if you join before the gym opens. Sorry laseface, I think I will be joining L.A Fitness instead of the Wellness Centre, only because they will be open 24/7 which works better with my schedule.

It's about time to get rid of all this flab! It's show time!

The Library & Procrastinating

I have never realized how much I appreciated the library. I tried to finish my report and prepare notes for exams in my room and I was easily distracted. (A.D.D?)

I just arrived to the library and I got more work done in the last hour than I have done in the past two days. It took me 2 DAYS to finish my part of the report. That is considered to be very sad especially seeing how much work I really had done or could have done in that time.

Once exams are over, I am going to turn my brother's old room into my own office. It is currently being used as a storage room for my mother's orders. I will have to clear it out and move my desk there. I hope I go through with it but my room may end up looking very empty.

I will take a picture of my room now (when it is cleaned up) and hopefully you guys can give me some sugggestions on changes that can or should be done to my room.

Ok time to get back to work.

Birthday present from Sephora

Isn't it generous of Sephora to give me a birthday present? I was quite surprised. I have never recieved a gift from a company before. This gives Sephora a competitive advantage. Giving gifts to their consumers shows appreciation for their customers loyalty. I just wanted to say thanks to Sephora for the birthday gift and I will make sure to inform you fellow bloggers on Sephora's lip gloss products once I pick it up.

Victoria Jackson

I was cleaning my washroom cupboard on Friday and I had found an eyeshadow palette from Victoria Jackson sitting in the back of the cupboard.

Let me tell you the story of how I had purchased this item (and I don't know why I had even considered these purchases).

So my girlfriend Ann and I were on break at work when we decided to go out for lunch that day. As we were getting into the car, this female in the car beside Ann's car began to knock on the car window. I asked Ann if she knew who she was and neither of us knew who she was. I didn't feel comfortable opening the window but I thought perhaps she was lost and needed directions *shrugs. She started asking questions like, "do you ladies wear make up, how often, etc, etc" and she started throwing all of these "free" products that would come along with the eyeshadow palette purchase.

We told her we will look at her products after our break and for her to give us her phone number (which was not difficult for her to give up).

We came back from our break to talk to her and see the products. The products were very iffy, but what had caught our attention were the small "free" items. The palette was a nice "looking" palette but it was not that great of a quality, 'quality'. The 'free' brushes were surprisingly better quality than had expected. The lip gloss 4 colour-package with a travel size lip brush were also 'surprisingly' better quality products as well. The one item that had caught our eyes were the bronzer. It had a built in brush and all you had to do was push down the button once to fresh the brush to apply the bronzer (at this time it only seemed amusing for travelling essentials.)
She was offering this purchase for $45.00

I would like to believe this was an impulse purchase and I do regret wasting that money.

To be honest, I don't remember why we had purchased these items from her. She seemed so disorganized and seemed desperate to make the sale to earn the money from the commission she would get from her sales (which I can relate to). She repeated herself numerous times, telling us that Victoria Jackson was a famous make-up artist and she was launching her line (this is where I should have caught on that this would not be a good product). Why would a famous make-up artist launch a make-up line using sales reps to run around to pitch the sale instead of opening a booth or store to launch their line. Everyone makes mistakes and this one was a big no, no for me.

After this incident, I personally do not even consider looking at products from sales representatives running around the mall to do their sales pitch. It is unprofessional and I should know better that the products will not be good quality.

I have yet touched the eyeshadow palette. The only products I have tried or used are the bronzer, the brushes and the lip gloss.

The bronzer stopped applying nicely after the first few days. The lipgloss is decent but is not as bright as one had hoped.

The only products I use on a weekly basis are the brushes. The bristols are nice and thick and they are decent brushes to use and throw away in a few weeks/months.

Basically I spent $45.00 on cheap'er' brushes.

I do not recommend anyone to purchase from these sales representatives. I do not like the products and honestly they scam you. They will say anything just to get you to buy this. I don't know what we were thinking. I would like to believe that we were running late to go back to work and we it truly was a stupid impluse purchase. It is just plain ol' unprofessional.

Steven by Steve Madden

I have been looking for a nice messenger bag for quite some time now. This is a basic, big, side hobo bag, which is exactly what I am looking for. Unfortunately, the price is something that is not in my budget.

This Steven bag by Steve Madden is going for $508 (USD).

I don't mind the colour but I do wish it came in black. I really need an everyday bag like this.

I cannot stand carrying my coach wristlet anymore. It is too unorganized and too small for my own good. I need to also purchase a wallet to replace that wristlet.

I need to find a better job!

Good day, everyone!

Hello Bloggers!

Hello bloggers and hello to the blog world!

This is my first entry in this blog. I was introduced to livejournal by a few of my girlfriends (approximately a year ago), only did I realized that it has become a personal journal, it became a place for me to release my anger.

I decided that it was time for a positive, fresh start.

Introduction, please....?
The name is Diana, some call me Dee, Di or Diane (only those who are lazy to pronounce the last syllable, "NA"). I am currently a student @ ryerson in hopes of earning a bachelors degree in Commerce.

Why the name dimplettez?
It is something I made up in grade 6 and I have kept the name ever since. Reasong being -- I have 3 dimples. 2 dimples on my left cheek and 1 on my right cheek. *shrugs, I thought it was something different.

What is this blog going to be about?
You will just have to wait and see.

I will leave it at that, I do apologize it was a very plain and bland intoduction but I was not sure of what to write just yet. I do promise the next extry will be SUPER exciting.
